I have been really trying to fill myself with postive affirmations...scriptures that apply to my (our) life. Letting God know what goals, plans I (we) have and finding scriptures to stand on.
As I was doing that I really felt led to begin with my life, our life or lifestyle first. Putting God first, seeking God and LOOKING for Him in what we are seeking.
If we put Him first it would be much like following a map...if you follow the map you will get to your destination.
So, as I have begun to discuss this whole idea with my family, I have at times felt that it was falling on deaf ears, or at the very least uninterested ears. But, as the word of God says, His word will not return without results...so tonight Gerald came home from work and said, "I applied the philosphy that you've been talking about (ok, this is being discussed at church, and at home) I walked outside at work today and as I approached my customers I didn't think what I normally do, which is; they aren't buying today...I remained positive, and I sold 2 cars today!"
He went on to tell me that one of the customers made it a point to tell him, we weren't buying today that was not our intention but I told my husband after meeting you I wanted to buy from you and if it couldn't happen today that we WOULD be buying from you soon. God is a faithful God, bestowing His grace and mercy upon us....He is so worthy of all our Glory and praise!
This is a blog of my thoughts... just my opinions, my thoughts, my feelings. I find a peace and satisfaction in getting them from thoughts to words.

yep I am still thinking outloud...
Pastor Bill said something that made me really stop and take inventory...
As my children are growing up I have made a point to tell them to stand, be themselves (remaining true to their faith first and foremost). I have had to tell them that they can't (shouldn't) let anyone stop them from reaching the goal they have for their life, ultimately what I believe is the purpose God has for them. Pastor Bill said, "Don't let anything stop you from what God has promised you." Wow, yes, he said do not let anything stop you... so where do I start from there so that I won't be stopped or can't be stopped.
Well, I have started by setting a plan, a plan to speak the word over my life on a daily basis, over my family on a daily basis.
The word of God says, "my word that goes out from my mouth will not return empty to me but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it." (Isaiah 55:11) It goes on to say in vs 12, "You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace..."
So, I am speaking the word, I am making a list of scriptures that will apply directly to the goal/plan for our life.
Here is the circle again, the bible study I am involved in just explained the importance of speaking the word, making a list (that's where I got the idea) of scriptures. In the past I've put post it notes up on the mirrors that remind us of scriptures to apply to our lives. But I haven't made a list and truly committed to speaking them (not just reading them) daily.
Reading the word is putting it in me, speaking it is going to the Father, my Lord and approaching Him with it, Isaiah says his word will not accomplish what he has set out... Oh for crying out loud! It's a win, win...don't you think? Because then not only will I be full of joy, but I will be opening the door, removing the ceiling and allowing God's purpose/plan to be done according to His word, His will in my life. Gods will is to be the source of our lives, in Kings 3 He asked Solomon, "Ask for whatever you want me to give you..."
That is what God is waiting for from us, just for us to go to Him and ask for what we need...

Thinking outloud
I have found that all things that involve the Lord work in a circle...
At church we are learning about the water=word of God; wine=joy. When Jesus was at the wedding and his mother came to him saying they had run out of wine, he told the servants to fill the clay pots (6 of them, 6 being the number of man) with water. Our pastor spoke on this and as he was speaking I saw the relevance of the 6 pots being man, filling them with water (word of God), then water when brought before the Master (the Lord, God) turned into wine (joy). (John 2)
God's joy is so unspeakable... you feel His glory in such an amazing and fulfilling way that you can not describe it. Those who have felt it only understand it. (John 15:11)
Okay...okay I can describe it. It's like walking through a fire and not being burned, you feel the heat and you may sweat a bit but you are unharmed.
Oh, don't get me wrong there are things and days when I feel the burn, the sting... does that mean that I don't have faith in God?
No, I can tell you during those times IF I had lost sight of what was true, just and honorable, the faith in my Lord then I quickly turned to Him and He didn't scold me he just walked me through it, yet again.
When I am walking with His word in me, made fresh everyday...knowing it, reading it, repeating it, then I am full of His word, and when I go to Him, not just know it but go to the Lord (Master) he turns it to joy. A couple at our church taught on the subject..."Real faith produces joy" is one thing they mentioned. But what got to me even more was when they said, "If you find contentment in Christ & abound in the joy of the Lord (full of the word, approaching God) you will walk in joy in through the good & the bad."
If we are walking in joy it is like an armor, like super natural powers, that keep us untouchable if you will. The enemy will be shooting arrows that will come straight at us but when they reach our body they will fall to the ground with a dull point.
