yep I am still thinking outloud...

Pastor Bill said something that made me really stop and take inventory...
As my children are growing up I have made a point to tell them to stand, be themselves (remaining true to their faith first and foremost). I have had to tell them that they can't (shouldn't) let anyone stop them from reaching the goal they have for their life, ultimately what I believe is the purpose God has for them. Pastor Bill said, "Don't let anything stop you from what God has promised you." Wow, yes, he said do not let anything stop you... so where do I start from there so that I won't be stopped or can't be stopped.
Well, I have started by setting a plan, a plan to speak the word over my life on a daily basis, over my family on a daily basis.
The word of God says, "my word that goes out from my mouth will not return empty to me but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it." (Isaiah 55:11) It goes on to say in vs 12, "You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace..."
So, I am speaking the word, I am making a list of scriptures that will apply directly to the goal/plan for our life.
Here is the circle again, the bible study I am involved in just explained the importance of speaking the word, making a list (that's where I got the idea) of scriptures. In the past I've put post it notes up on the mirrors that remind us of scriptures to apply to our lives. But I haven't made a list and truly committed to speaking them (not just reading them) daily.
Reading the word is putting it in me, speaking it is going to the Father, my Lord and approaching Him with it, Isaiah says his word will not accomplish what he has set out... Oh for crying out loud! It's a win, win...don't you think? Because then not only will I be full of joy, but I will be opening the door, removing the ceiling and allowing God's purpose/plan to be done according to His word, His will in my life. Gods will is to be the source of our lives, in Kings 3 He asked Solomon, "Ask for whatever you want me to give you..."
That is what God is waiting for from us, just for us to go to Him and ask for what we need...
